Looking for an Affordable Sony 4K Projector?

The Sony VPL-XW5000ES Belongs in Your Home Theater

Looking for an Affordable Sony 4K Projector?

While laser light source projectors have been around for some time, affordable is not an adjective that typically goes with laser. But lately, that’s changed, and if you’re looking for a new or upgraded high-quality projector that won’t break the bank, Sony’s got just the product - the VPL-XW5000ES.

Why would you want a laser light source for your home theater in Atlanta or Marietta, GA? It’s simple; laser light engines last far longer than lamp-based ones. These lasers can last up to 20,000 hours of use, which makes for a lot of movies and entertainment over many years. But there’s more to this wallet-friendly laser-based Sony 4K projector. Explore the details below!

Why Sony

There are other companies that make high-quality and high-end projectors, but none have the experience and pedigree of Sony. Sony launched the first 4K projector for the home over a decade ago as well as the first HD projector in 2003 when the world was still watching standard definition TV. The company’s vast expertise in film cameras, movie theater systems, film production, and digital video technology gives it a more holistic view and the ability to bring lifelike images from the lens to the screen.

The Entry Point to Laser

The XW5000ES is the entry point into laser projection with Sony. The entry point doesn’t mean entry level, as the laser in this model can produce 2000 lumens of brightness. Aside from the laser, the video processing is top of the line. The XW5000ES boasts the same X1 processor Sony introduced on their GTZ380 $100,000 projector last year. Just like in their flagship flat panel TVs, Sony’s video processing prowess has no peer. It stems from their vast experience with cameras and sensors and the AI and databases they have built to optimize every kind of image. This processing produces inky deep blacks, dazzling whites, incredible contrast, and vivid colors. HDR processing is what separates good images from great ones, and Sony’s object-based HDR remastering optimizes color and contrast to individual objects in the image for amazing pictures.

The Sony Laser Line

While you get incredible performance at a bargain price point with the XW5000ES, the laser fun merely starts there. If you want more advanced features like motorized zoom and lens memory for an anamorphic 2.4 widescreen display, you can move up to the XW6000ES. That model steps up the brightness to 2500 lumens, ideal for larger screens and larger rooms. And the XW7000ES takes it further: 3200 lumens along with additional features. From an aesthetics and installation standpoint, these laser projectors are also compact and svelte. The new models are up to 20% smaller than previous laser models.
