Whether you’re building your new home theater here in the Metro Atlanta area or you’re ready to update your existing one, one of your top priorities always is going to be achieving the best picture quality possible.

With more and more 4K Ultra HD content becoming available, from movies to video games and more, you need a home theater projector that can deliver that high-resolution image quality that brings the action to life. That’s why we at Georgia Home Theater recommend Sony projectors for home theaters in Alpharetta and beyond.

In this blog, we are going to highlight one of our favorite Sony projectors; one we have on display in our Marietta showroom: the VPL-VW695ES 4K SXRD projector.

What do you need to know about the VPL-VW695ES, and why do we recommend it for local custom home theater installations? Find out below.

Lens Shift and Aspect Ratio

The lens shift and aspect ratio ensure just the right angle for your movie-watching experience. You can shift the lens from 16x9 to 2.35x aspect ratio, depending on your preferences.

Sony’s VPL-VW695ES lets you shift your view with a wide-lens shift range and 2.06x motorized zoom feature. You can also adjust the device up to 85 percent vertically and 31 percent horizontally to see your movie at the most flattering angle.

4K Motionflow

Though films may be the first opportunity that comes to mind for using a projector, sports events will look true to life with Sony’s 4K Motionflow video processing. You can change the frames per second ratio to adapt to either a film or a game.

HDR and Color Benefits

According to Sony’s website, the VPL-VW695ES projector can emit stunning colors, deep blacks and high contrast due to its high dynamic range, or HDR.

They describe this functionality this way: “The VPL-VW695ES incorporates TRILUMINOS™ color, reproducing more tones and textures than a standard projector system. Hard-to-reproduce crimson reds, aqua blues, and emerald greens are displayed beautifully, so landscapes and seascapes look more vivid.”

Boasting 1,800 lumens of brightness, the VPL-VW695ES also is 300 lumens brighter than its newest counterpart, the VPL-VW295ES (You can read our review of that projector here).

Millions of Pixels

The VPL-VW695ES boasts literally millions of pixels for corner-to-corner clarity and a lifelike view. Delivering 8.8 million pixels in native 4K resolution, you’ll feel as though you’re living inside the movie.

In comparison, standard HD projectors deliver four times fewer the amount of pixels compared to 4K Sony projectors. The image quality upgrade from HD to 4K is instantly noticeable; and the VPL-VW695ES delivers on its promise to showcase the on-screen experience.

3D and IMAX Compatibility

If you’ve ever been to an IMAX or 3D movie, you know how immersive and entrancing the experience can be. Why miss out on having this capability in your own home?

If IMAX or 3D movies are a priority for you, Georgia Home Theater can help to ensure your theater is ready with IMAX-Enhanced or 3D-Enhanced content.
