Speakers are not like automobiles or smartphones – a new model doesn’t emerge every year. With some exceptions in the realm of wireless and powered speakers, digital technology isn’t driving significant change as it does in cars and mobile devices.

When it comes to the high end of the speaker spectrum, change comes even more slowly. Most hi-fi speaker manufacturers have a house sound that is a result of unique design approaches to audio transducers. As a result, manufacturers prefer evolution rather than revolution, and it’s a reason that an investment in a quality speaker can last you for decades.

So it is with Klipsch and their Heritage line of speakers. Heritage speakers hew closely to Klipsch design traditions but are updated with evolution in speaker material, electronics, and design. The Klipschorn is an excellent example; it’s the only speaker that has been in continuous production for over 70 years.

This month, as Atlanta’s exclusive Klipsch Heritage dealer, we’re excited to tell you about a new edition of Klipsch speaker – the Cornwall IV. What’s new, or should we say, evolved? Read on below to find out. And after that, come to our Marietta showroom to hear it in person.

Soundbars sometimes get a bad rap. Audio enthusiasts tend to downplay these integrated speaker systems as fashion items with inferior sound quality. There are many soundbars on the market, and the bad rap, unfortunately, holds true for a great number of them.

Soundbars, however, are incredibly popular for a variety of reasons. Some rooms don’t have a great deal of space for separate speakers. In some older homes, it may be challenging to retrofit wires for architectural speakers. Some people don't want to see more than one speaker in their room and prefer only a sleekly mounted speaker under the TV where it doesn't draw too much attention. The soundbar is a neat solution for all those scenarios.

What about sound quality? The soundbar has benefited from over a decade of refinement in engineering. Digital signal processing, as well as better quality drivers and construction, enable today's higher-end soundbars to rival the sound quality of multi-speaker systems. Last month, we told you about Leon custom soundbars, an excellent choice for minimalist media rooms

This month, we have another customizable soundbar to tell you about, from none other than Klipsch. You know Klipsch as a classic American audio brand that’s been in business for over 70 years. Georgia Home Theater is proud to be Atlanta’s only Klipsch Heritage dealer, carrying audio enthusiast speakers like the Klipschorn as well as the affordable Reference Premier line. We’re excited to tell you about the new Klipsch Heritage Soundbar, which offers discreet, elegant looks with the robust sound quality you expect from Klipsch. Keep reading below for the details!

Klipsch is a company on a roll. Of late, they have been introducing new products that deliver excellent audio performance at a variety of price points, from the ultra-affordable to the high end. It’s also safe to say that when it comes to the high end, Klipsch offers exceptional sound quality that rivals speakers costing much more.

The Klipsch Heritage line represents the best speakers Klipsch has to offer. It includes the Klipschorn, the only speaker in audio that has been in continuous production for over 70 years. In the past few months, Klipsch updated the Cornwall, another classic with decades of history. And now, Klipsch is re-booting the Heresy, the most affordable entry point into the Klipsch Heritage line.

If you’re looking to upgrade the sound of your hi-fi stereo, but you aren’t looking for a large speaker, the fourth edition of the Klipsch Heresy should be on your shortlist. GHT Group is proud to be Atlanta's exclusive Klipsch Heritage dealer, and you can check out the entire line at our Marietta showroom, only a short drive from Buckhead, GA.

Should You DIY or Hire a Company for Your Home Theater? Should You DIY or Hire a Company for Your Home Theater?

We’ll Dish on the Pros and Cons

Do you love DIY projects? So many people do, and everyone has their preferences and passions. Do we have an axe to grind here? We’ll give you a hint – the HT in GHT Group stands for home theater. Sonance Invisible Speakers: Designed for Sound, Not Distraction Sonance Invisible Speakers: Designed for Sound, Not Distraction

Sonance Makes the Speaker Disappear

Sometimes you want to see a speaker, and sometimes you don’t. In your listening room, you might have a beautifully sculpted and finished pair of Focal transducers, and they look as good as they sound. In the listening room, the Focals are part of the decor as much as the classically styled Macintosh gear that powers them.

But let's move on to the living room, dining room, and kitchen in your Milton, GA home. Do you really want to see speakers there? Not likely, since they don't quite fit with the ambiance. Of course, architectural speakers can do the job of sound in these rooms, fitting neatly into the walls and ceilings. But let's take it a step further. Your interior designer (or partner) is adamant that no trace of a speaker be visible in these rooms, and that includes grills. What to do, then? That's where Sonance invisible speakers come in. Keep reading below to see how these speakers bring the sound without leaving a visual footprint.

These Architectural Speakers Pack Great Sound with a Twist

Some people love great sound, but they don't love the intrusion of high-fidelity speakers in their décor, no matter how well-designed and finished. You could say that a long time ago, if you decided on architectural speakers for a demure look to your sound, you would give up something in the audio quality department. Today, you can throw that notion out the window.

Today’s choices in architectural speakers are vast. Virtually every high-fidelity speaker maker has an architectural line voiced and engineered on par with their freestanding models. One of our favorite speaker brands is Monitor Audio. We've raved about their Controlled Performance Series, which is ideal for listening rooms or surround sound where speaker visibility is banned.

In this blog, we'd like to introduce you to a different type of Monitor Audio speaker – the SoundFrame. The SoundFrame is a high-performance speaker that can almost hide in plain sight in your Kennesaw or Atlanta, GA, listening or media room. Learn more about it below!

We’re not going to dissuade you from exercising more, but we can make the case that you will get a lot of use from your home theater.

But that was long ago, when TV was low resolution, surround sound wasn’t common, and the only content that really took advantage of big screens and great audio was movies. Today, we have 4K streaming, Dolby Atmos surround sound, and incredible video processing that makes older content look like it’s ultra-high definition too.

A home theater can be your entertainment central for everything related to audio and video. And summer is a great time to enjoy it, with kids on vacation and families kicking back to enjoy more fun together. All you need is a knowledgeable home theater company like GHT Group to design and build it! Three Ways to Get the Best Performance from Your Surround Sound System Three Ways to Get the Best Performance from Your Surround Sound System

Immersive Surround Sound Takes Careful Setup and Calibration

You might think that great surround sound is easy. Just buy the system, set it up, and presto, incredible surround sound. Admittedly, there are some soundbars and system-in-a-box solutions that will give you decent surround sound from movies and shows. On the other hand, you’re not likely to get that visceral, blown away feeling from any of them.

For truly stellar, immersive, “OMG, that's so incredible!” sound like you’ve only experienced at the best movie theaters, you need a real, full surround sound system with separate components and speakers. Even then, you still won't be blown away unless it's properly set up. Keep reading to learn more about three areas that merit special attention when setting up a surround sound system.

Want a High-End Audio Amplifier with Muscle and Finesse? Want a High-End Audio Amplifier with Muscle and Finesse?

Take a Look at the Incomparable McIntosh MC901

Some high-fidelity speakers require massive power to sound their best. Sometimes, even veteran audio enthusiasts have a speaker that they're not satisfied with that may just need more energy. For example, electrostatic speakers from MartinLogan require a lot of juice to bring out the airy and deep soundstage for which the brand and the technology are known. But without the right amplification, you might be unimpressed.

The other aspect of wringing the best sound from a great speaker is matching the amplifier to the speaker. There are several types of amplifier designs and topologies. Two classic types are vacuum tubes, which date back to the dawn of electronics, and solid state, which is the most common type found in most audio products.

There’s much more to this, but we’re trying to keep it simple here. And if you already know all that, you’ll still want to keep reading about the McIntosh MC901 amplifier, which combines both vacuum tubes and solid-state components into a beastly high-end audio amp with the power to drive just about any speaker in your Brookhaven, GA, listening room.
