Soundbars sometimes get a bad rap. Audio enthusiasts tend to downplay these integrated speaker systems as fashion items with inferior sound quality. There are many soundbars on the market, and the bad rap, unfortunately, holds true for a great number of them.
Soundbars, however, are incredibly popular for a variety of reasons. Some rooms don’t have a great deal of space for separate speakers. In some older homes, it may be challenging to retrofit wires for architectural speakers. Some people don't want to see more than one speaker in their room and prefer only a sleekly mounted speaker under the TV where it doesn't draw too much attention. The soundbar is a neat solution for all those scenarios.
What about sound quality? The soundbar has benefited from over a decade of refinement in engineering. Digital signal processing, as well as better quality drivers and construction, enable today's higher-end soundbars to rival the sound quality of multi-speaker systems. Last month, we told you about Leon custom soundbars, an excellent choice for minimalist media rooms.
This month, we have another customizable soundbar to tell you about, from none other than Klipsch. You know Klipsch as a classic American audio brand that’s been in business for over 70 years. GHT Group is proud to be Atlanta’s only Klipsch Heritage dealer, carrying audio enthusiast speakers like the Klipschorn as well as the affordable Reference Premier line. We’re excited to tell you about the new Klipsch Heritage Soundbar, which offers discreet, elegant looks with the robust sound quality you expect from Klipsch. Keep reading below for the details!
The Klipsch Heritage is not an ordinary soundbar. Klipsch applies its classic design chops here, giving it furniture-grade, wood veneer finishes and premium grill materials much like the rest of the Heritage line. A low-profile rail mounting system lets it securely sit on the wall, underneath a TV set, without protruding - keeping your minimalist design intact.
While the soundbar is available off-the-shelf in a 50-inch size that goes with many larger flat panels, that’s not your only choice. Klipsch will tailor your bar to your desired aesthetics, with multiple finishes like American walnut, distressed oak, natural cherry, and a primed white that can be painted any color. Your bar can be fabricated to exactly match the width of your TV, right down to 1/10 of an inch and up to 80 inches wide. Multiple grill options further enhance your ability to make the soundbar an integral part of your décor, and the grill attaches magnetically, just as it should in a high-end speaker.
The elegant Klipsch Heritage soundbar is not just a pretty face. It packs the same high-quality cerametallic woofers found in the Reference Premier series, as well as the classic titanium horn loaded tweeter. This is the same type of design that allows the soundbar to have that lively Klipsch sound that makes you feel the music or like the action is right there with you.
What about power, you ask? Unlike most of today’s soundbars, the Klipsch is a passive design and needs outboard power. The bar is a three-channel design (two woofers and a horn tweeter for each) and delivers a wide front soundstage. Because of Klipsch’s traditional efficiency, it can be driven with any quality mid-range home theater receiver and can take up to 150 watts of amplifier power. This lets you tailor the system for the room, as the bar will play louder with higher power in larger rooms.
