Check Out The Flagship Theater in Georgia Home Theater’s Marietta Showroom
A home theater can be a significant investment. Like a bathroom or kitchen remodel, it can also be a big job. There's a lot that can go into a home theater. There's the screen, the projector, the speakers, the audio receiver, processor or amplifier, control capability, lighting, seating, décor, and more to think about.
Of course, your home theater area might be a setup designed around a living or family room, or it can be a full-boat dedicated home theater in an extra or purpose-built room in your house. Either way, the details must be sweated to make it into a theater experience that feels special. Those details involve the right size and scale for sound and picture, the acoustics, the methods of control, and perhaps how the home theater ties into other smart home features.
It might seem daunting, right? Georgia Home Theater is here to help. As our name implies, home theaters are a core competence at our company. To make it easier for customers to see and hear what a home theater setup can be like at your home, we have built one in our flagship theater demo area in our Marietta showroom.
Did you miss the Oscar-winning Bohemian Rhapsody at the theaters? We have set the film up as a demo in our showroom, as the musical soundtrack can really show off a high-end sound system. And the visuals are equally stunning. The demo theater features some of our best brands – Anthem, Bowers and Wilkins, Sony, and more. At our Marietta showroom, you’ll get a much better sense of what to expect from a professional home theater installation in your Alpharetta-area home.
Keep reading for a brief look at what you’ll experience in the showroom – and what you could have in your own theater.

Sony Projector and Stewart Filmscreen
Any great theater experience starts with a big picture. Scale is critical in getting an authentic cinematic experience. To get the biggest bang for the buck with large screens, nothing beats a projector. Projectors from our partner Sony can be applied to screens up to 300 inches diagonally in size. You may not need one quite that size, but the beauty of projectors is that depending on the model, they can work for screens from 80 to 300 inches.
Sony recently introduced an affordable 4K projector to their line, the VPL-VW29ES. It features true 4K resolution and the latest high dynamic range (HDR) support that will make movies and HDR shows look almost three dimensional. Come see how Bohemian Rhapsody looks like on our 133-inch screen in the showroom.
Stewart Filmscreen has long been known for the best in projection screens; the company has been doing it for 70 years. Did you know that there are different types of screens? Stewart makes screens that can reject ambient light and can be used in rooms that are not fully darkened, as in a multipurpose media room. They also make acoustically transparent screens so you can have your center channel speaker behind the screen for a highly integrated sound experience.
Experience Bohemian Rhapsody in our Sony and Stewart Filmscreen equipped demo theater; you will be impressed.
Audio by Anthem, B&W, and JL Audio
What’s a home theater without the sound to match the big picture? At our showroom, we’ve chosen some of the best to feature in our demo room. Bowers and Wilkins (B&W) has been one of the premier names in audio for decades, and we have the flagship range in our showroom – the 800 Series Diamond. These speakers are as beautiful to look at as they are to listen to. They are equally at home in a high-end two-channel HiFi system as anchoring your home theater. As they are highly musical and can handle all the dynamic range of music and movie soundtracks, they sound incredible with Bohemian Rhapsody.
For high-end speakers like B&W, you need home theater processing and amplification that are a match, systems that can deliver the scale of a theater but also do so with nuance and precision. Anthem is our brand of choice for high-end home theater receivers because their focus is less on features and squarely on audio and build quality. While their receivers feature the latest technology like 4K HDR video passthrough and Dolby Atmos, their components are made to audiophile standards and are routinely lauded by professional reviewers. With home theater audio, correcting for acoustic issues in the room is critical to achieving the best sound quality. Anthem's room correction (ARC) is one of the best on the market, and it can make your theater space sound as good as it can get.
JL Audio is a name associated with the finest quality subwoofers. Because of the way bass notes work, most experts recommend two subwoofers in your theater if you have the space and configuration for it. We put two in our demo room so you can hear and feel the difference from the tight and deep bass JL Audio delivers for both movies and music.
Seating and Acoustics
Comfortable seating is a must in a home theater installation, as you are going to spend hours watching movies, sports, and shows. We feature Palliser seating in the showroom to demonstrate what the experience should be like: seating that exceeds the best available in commercial theaters, without the sticky theater floor. Palliser is a furniture maker as well as a leading home theater seating provider, so they have a wide range of styles and fabrics from which to choose – 100 types of leather and 200 fabrics. Whether you want recliner style theater seats or more living-room centric sofa seating, Palliser can do it.
Despite the excellence of Anthem Room Correction software and our own professional calibration, some spaces need additional help to deliver the surround-sound experience you expect from a theater. To tame reflections and absorptions that can disrupt the sound quality, acoustic treatment and panels can help. The problem with some of these solutions is that they left something to be desired aesthetically without expensive construction. Acoustic Innovations’ Wallscapes has solved that issue, offering attractive acoustic treatments in a variety of shapes and colors that can be easily integrated into your home theater décor. You can check them out in our demo room while you listen to the unique music of Queen.
You can see all these products for yourself at our flagship demo theater and get a sense what you might want for your Alpharetta-area home theater installation. In fact, we have four dedicated home theater demo areas in our Marietta showroom.
