Maybe you’re originally from the frigid north and you fell in love with Florida after the 1961 Spring Break movie Where the Boys Are. Did you know that the Elbo Room is still in Ft. Lauderdale? You might not want to go there anymore, but you might want to remember the way it was then. This tune will bring it back! And if you really want to relive Spring Break, you know all too well that the college students descend upon Destin in March!

Surfin’ USA – The Beach Boys

What list of beach songs could possibly omit The Beach Boys? Not this one. Miramar Beach may not have California waves, but the water is a lot warmer. If these lyrics don’t make you dream about the freedom of the beach, we’re not sure what will – “we’ll all be gone for the summer, we’re on surfari to stay…” It’s not too late to take surf lessons!

Toes – Zac Brown Band

"I'm surrounded by water, and I'm not going back again." Isn't that what you thought when you moved to Miramar Beach? So, go get your toes in the sand. Unlike the singer of the song who left Georgia for the beach, you don't have to go far. While GHT Group is based in Georgia, too, you don't have to go far for your whole-home audio system either – we’re right here in Rosemary Beach. 

Cuando Calienta El Sol – Various Artists

Rumor has it that Miramar Beach was named after the once-exclusive suburb of Miramar in Havana. The name Miramar itself means "looking out over the sea." Many artists have covered this classic 1961 Spanish song, and the song lyrics "cuando calienta el sol aqui en la playa” means when the sun warms on the beach. Made famous by a Cuban/Mexican group, we think this one is fitting for Miramar. 

Margaritaville – Jimmy Buffet

“Nibblin' on sponge cake/Watchin' the sun bake/All of those tourists covered with oil.” Who doesn’t remember this classic Jimmy Buffet tune and not think of the beach? Oh, and did you know that a Margaritaville resort is coming to Panama Beach? While that may not excite you, there’s no denying the song is a beach-oriented classic. Fire up the blender for a margarita to get in the mood!
